Planning Our First Trip in 2025 to Legoland Billund This Spring

Welcome, families and adventure seekers! It's been a while.

If you’re planning your first visit to Legoland Billund this spring, you’re in for a treat. If not, well you can might still pick up some useful tips for a lego trip. Whether you’re traveling with your little builders aged 4-12 or simply enjoy family vacations that mix thrills and creativity, this blog will provide you with comprehensive guidance to help you get the most out of your day - at least I hope so.

Why Legoland Billund?

Legoland Billund is not just an amusement park – it's a vibrant playground celebrating a world made entirely of LEGO bricks... And we live one gour away from the park. With themed zones, interactive rides, and attractions that spark creativity, Legoland hosts a magical realm ideal for a first-time visitor’s dream trip. Now, we are used to the park by now so some zones seems a bit outdated when you look at them with adult eyes, but overall it still is a great park for families. The park's energy in the spring is contagious with pleasant weather, special seasonal events, and a fantastic atmosphere that both kids and adults can enjoy.

Planning Your Trip: Tips and Tricks

Annual Passes: Our family is lucky enough to hold annual passes, which not only offer unlimited visits but also extend savings on admission fees and sometimes provide additional discounts on food and merchandise. If you are not a pass-holder, keep an eye out for early-bird promotions and family packages. Typically, admission costs about DKK 299 for children (ages 3-10) and DKK 449 for older kids and adults when purchased at the gate, whereas annual pass fees can vary depending on the season. We calculated that we just needed to visit the park twice within a year for us to actually save money by having annual passes.

Spring Season Considerations:

Spring in Billund can be a vibrant mix of chill mornings and warmer afternoons, so dress in layers. Check the weather forecast before your trip – average temperatures can range between 8°C to 16°C in this season, so pack a light jacket, waterproof clothing, and comfortable walking shoes. Rain is always a possibility, so having an umbrella or poncho handy can save you from a soggy day in line. And remember- it's almost always windy in Legoland so wear layers and bring lots of warm clothing.

Reservations for Accommodation:

This year, we’re staying at the popular Pirats Inn. The inn is conveniently located close to Legoland, making it an excellent base for families planning both a day in the park and a relaxing night’s stay. It’s great for the budget but still offer a reasonable breakfast buffet and a hotel like feeling and then it's themed as Lego Pirats and that’s just cool for every age visiting. There are small playgrounds outside the rooms and in the vacation park- where the inn is located - you csn also find a huge Lego Ninjago playground as well as Ninjago cabins and smaller western theme cabins. It’s also possible for you to get a spot for your camping vagon or your autocamper if you have that.

Day Planner: From Arrival to Departure

Morning: Arrival and Parking at Billund

Your Legoland adventure begins the moment you arrive in Billund. If you're driving, there is ample parking available both at Legoland and near Pirats Inn. We always arrive so we are ready when the park opens for the day. Remember: I got small kids. My husband and I don’t get to sleep in. Not even in the weekends.

Here’s what you need to know:

Parking at Legoland: The bill of entry parking fee typically hovers around DKK 75 per vehicle for the day. Follow the overhead signs directing you to “Parkering” near the main entrance.

Directions to Pirats Inn: Once you've parked, follow the clearly marked pathway or shuttle service (available from some parking lots) to Pirats Inn. The inn is located just a short stroll away from Legoland’s main reception area, making it convenient for families to walk back and forth to the park.

Once you've parked, follow the clearly marked pathway or shuttle service (available from some parking lots) to Pirats Inn. The inn is located just a short stroll away from Legoland’s main reception area, making it convenient for families to find. We have stayed here before (have a look at my YouTube video of the Inn here) and we love it. It is not as grand as the hotels but it’s great for the price. We get private, themed rooms, there’s several playgrounds on the campsite where the Inn is located and there is a breakfast buffet. And it’s just a short walk away from the park.

What’s new in Legoland:

We always arrive when the park opens - we have small kids so we are already up. That gives us plenty of time to stroll through the park and enjoy the mini land. There was a fire in some of the small houses last year so over the winter that part of mini land has been replaced by a brand new area that looks like Århus - a city in Denmark.

But that’s not the only new thing in the park this year. At pirat land a brand new playground is opening right next to the picnic tables. Now families can eat and then let their kids play while the parents relax with a cup of coffee.(Because this is Denmark, we drink lots of coffee.)

To sum it all up. We are so excited to go back to Legoland in just 2 short weeks.
